The Operations Division of the Franklin Fire Department provides emergency medical services, fire suppression, technical rescue operations, hazardous materials response, training, and much more. Additionally, firefighters deliver most of FFD's community programs and services.

Firefighters work a 24-hour on-duty, 48-hour off-duty schedule. A battalion chief serves as shift commander, while captains and lieutenants at each station manage a crew consisting of engineers and firefighters.
