The Franklin Fire Department provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) care, which is the highest level of pre-hospital care.  Firefighter-paramedics respond to emergency medical incidents under the supervision of an emergency department physician.  A Williamson Health EMS ambulance follows to transport patients and continue ALS service.  On average, 68 percent of the department’s annual calls are medical in nature.
