Design a fire helmet shield! Open to K-8 grade students!

GUIDELINES

  • Create a fire helmet shield that illustrates the 2024 Fire Prevention Week theme, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!” For ideas visit www.fpw.org.
  • One Grand Prize Winner will be chosen. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card, courtesy of Atmos Energy, and their artwork will be made into a real fire helmet shield for Sparky the Fire Dog’s helmet!  You can see him wearing it at Franklin Fire Station 8 in Westhaven!
  • Up to nine First Place Winners may be chosen; one winner per grade. Each First Place Winner will receive a $50 Visa gift card, courtesy of Atmos Energy.
  • Artwork/entries should fit within the Helmet Shield Template provided.  Use of the template is optional.
  • Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade who are Williamson County residents may enter.
  • Artwork/entries may be in any art medium (illustration, pen, paint, crayons, etc.).
  • Artwork/entries must be the original work of the artist.   
  • Artwork/entries must be submitted digitally as a high-resolution file upload through the Online Entry Form.  Accepted file types include PDF, DOC, DOCX, PNG, JPG, and JPEG. The file size limit is 5 MB.
  • One entry per contestant.
  • Upon submission, entrants grant the City of Franklin and the Franklin Fire Department all rights to the artwork.
  • The deadline to submit is 11:59 P.M. CST Sunday, October 27, 2024. 
  • The winners will be announced by Friday, November 1, 2024.
  • The winning designs may be used in City of Franklin and Franklin Fire Department promotional materials.
  • A panel of community members will select the winners.
