Franklin, TN – City employees from most every department, along with emergency service providers and stakeholders from 11 organizations across Williamson County will gather at Police Headquarters on May 2, 2011 – the 1-year anniversary of 2010’s tragic flood. The tabletop exercise will evaluate available assets and resources in comparison to those needed to manage a large-scale disaster. Franklin City Administrator Eric Stuckey said, “Our Neighbors to the south recently experienced unimaginable, wide-spread devastation. This exercise has been planned for months, and has no correlation. It is, however, a sobering reminder of the importance of preparedness.”

Media partners are invited to join participants in the Emergency Operations Center, adjacent to the lobby of Police Headquarters at 9:45 am for a 15-minute opportunity to interview individuals from participating agencies. The exercise will begin promptly at 10:00 am, where media partners can attend and record the launch of the exercise. In the best interest of the operation, access will be revoked promptly at 10:15, with no exceptions.

News organizations wishing to cover this event are asked to confirm their attendance by e-mail to cwarner@franklintn.gov
