Franklin, TN – Police arrested Franklin murder suspect Jesse Knapp today in San Antonio, Texas. Shortly after 5:00 pm, the 23-year-old was arrested by FBI Agents, Texas Rangers, and San Antonio Police Officers at the Rivercenter 9 Movie Theatre, 849 E. Commerce Street, in San Antonio. The tan Jeep Wrangler Knapp fled in following the stabbings was parked nearby.

Shortly before 2:00 am Thursday morning, officers were summoned to the area of 175 Broadwell Circle for a stabbing. Knapp, during a domestic disturbance, repeatedly stabbed his 20-year-old brother, Joshua Knapp, and his 44-year-old mother, Dian Bridges. Responding officers found Joshua Knapp injured and lying in the street. Dian Bridges was found at a neighbor’s home where she had gone for help. Joshua died at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center at 8:15 am Thursday; Dian Bridges remains there in stable condition.

Neighboring agencies were quick to respond and provide support. FBI agents obtained an Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution warrant for Knapp’s arrest yesterday. This afternoon, the TBI added him to their Top-10 Most Wanted list.

Franklin Police leaders credit strong relationships with area local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies for Knapp’s quick arrest. “When horrific crimes like this one strike in our community, we rely on the strong long-standing relationships we’ve built through the years with partner agencies,” said Franklin Police Chief Jackie Moore. “This just shows what can be done when we work as a team. We is always better than I.”

“Brentwood Police, the FBI, TBI, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Williamson County Sheriff’s Department were quick to reach out and provide their support,” said Deputy Chief Mike Jordan who commands the Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. “We are grateful for the assistance they provided to help us get this man off of the street.”

Franklin Detectives are making immediate arrangements to travel to Texas and bring Knapp back to Williamson County, where he faces numerous charges including Criminal Homicide.
