Franklin, TN – Beat the winter blues with a red hot adventure – the Franklin Fire Department’s 9th Annual Citizens’ Fire Academy! During this hands-on program, participants will fight a real fire in a controlled environment, rescue a patient trapped in a vehicle during a mock crash, ride in a platform at the top of a ladder truck, learn CPR and much more.
The Citizens' Fire Academy is an eight-week course that meets on Thursday evenings from 6 – 9 p.m. Classes will begin March 19 and conclude on May 7, 2015. Last year’s group included both men and women, young adults and retirees.
There are five spaces left in the free program, so if you’ve not applied yet there’s still time.
Participants must live or work in the City of Franklin, be at least 21 years of age, and commit to attending seven of the eight classes. The classes take place at the department’s training center on Century Court.
