Stakeholder and Public Involvement is key to the successful implementation of Franklin's Integrated Water Resource Plan (IWRP). The IWRP process provides for three levels of public involvement, each with a differing role. The levels and a summary of the roles are presented below.

Steering Committee

Work with consultant to direct the process
Recommend Board of Mayor and Aldermen approval of decisions and deliverables
Recommend policy decisions on service areas

Stakeholder Committee

Participates in workshops to identify project goals, objectives, and alternatives
Makes decisions subject to approval by the Steering Committee and ultimately the Board of Mayor and Aldermen
Includes City officials, watershed organizations, utility directors, state regulatory representatives, public representatives, USGS, technical reviewers, City task force representatives, others.

Receives reports on progress
Provides ideas, information, and values to the Stakeholder Committee

Technical Modeling Meeting - A technical modeling meeting will be conducted to present to the public the process of the project and the details of how the model works. This meeting will take place in May or June 2010.
