Michelle Hatcher graduated from the University of Central Florida in Environmental Engineering and began her career in Los Angeles, California.  She worked in Libby, Montana where she met her husband, and ended up settling in Nashville.  She became a Professional Engineer in 2012, and began work for the City in 2013 as the Assistant Director of Policy and Planning for the Water Management Department.  During her time as the Assistant Director, she assisted with communications with TDEC and the capital projects related to the population growth of Franklin.  In July 2017 she was promoted to the Water Management Director position.  Michelle is active in both the Kentucky/Tennessee Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the technical water quality professional organizations.  Her passion is water education and awareness and looks to engage the next generation of students/operators.   

Michelle and her husband have twins who keep them busy, in addition to their two dogs.  She enjoys mountain biking and running in her spare time, anything relating to being outside.
