Responsible for transporting waste to an approved landfill. Waste is brought into our facility by City refuse trucks and private hauling companies.

Metals collected are diverted from the landfill and delivered to a metal recycler, for a rebate, based on volume.

Biodegradable paper bags utilized for small amounts of yard waste, collected curbside, are diverted to the Streets Department compost site at Lula Lane.

The City transfer station is open from 6:00AM till 4:00PM Monday thru Friday.

Tipping Fees at Transfer Station 

Class 1 - $65.00 per ton/ $65.00 minimum

Class 3 & 4 (Construction & Demolition) - We do not accept construction & demolition debris

City of Franklin Commercial Transfer Station Customers - Per Ordinance 2022-01: On April 12, 2022, the city of Franklin Board of Mayor and Alderman met and approved changing our tipping fee from $55.00/ton to $65.00/ton with a $65.00 minimum. The new Tipping Fee will go into effect May 1, 2022.
