Main Street Fire – June 13, 1902
Four stores on Main Street were destroyed by fire. "It was Friday and also the 13th of the month, thus doubly ill omened…The means of fighting fire in Franklin are woefully inadequate, and the town is practically at the mercy of any whilom spark.” - Williamson County News
Egyptian Lacquers Fire Fatality – June 23, 1999
A workplace fire at Egyptian Lacquers seriously injured employee Johnny Rainey, a 41-year old man, and ultimately claimed his life. Mr. Rainey died from his injuries on July 4, 1999.
Georgia Boot Co. Warehouse Fires - June 26, 1973
Around 5:30 a.m., two large warehouses located on 1st Avenue South, containing raw materials belonging to the Georgia Boot Company, burned down. The contents, used in the manufacture of boots, were valued at $1 million. The warehouses were owned by R.N. Moore Feed & Seed Co. Hill Estates House Fire Fatality – June 30, 1999
Clarence Caldwell, a 60-year old man, died in a fire at 206 Cherry Dr. that was caused by unattended cooking on the stove.
