Firefighter of the Year

Eligible Personnel: All firefighters assigned to the fire suppression division.

Criteria: The firefighter of the year must be dedicated, dependable, have good moral character, and be self-motivated.  He or she must also be a caring individual for the fire department and the community.

Engineer of the Year

Eligible Personnel: All engineers assigned to the fire suppression division.

Criteria: The driver of the year must be dedicated, dependable, have good moral character, and be self-motivated.  He or she must also be a caring individual for the fire department and community.

Rookie of the Year

Criteria:  This award is reserved for new employees with the Franklin Fire Department.  Employees eligible for this award will have 0-12 months of service in the suppression division of the Franklin Fire Department. The candidate shall contribute to teamwork, demonstrate professional and ethical conduct, attend to the needs of internal and external customers, maintain a high degree of personal grooming habits, show an interest to learn, adapt, and to strive for constant improvement.

Rookie of the Year Criteria: This award is reserved for new employees with the Franklin Fire Department. Employees eligible for this award will have 0-12 months of service in the suppression division of the Franklin Fire Department. Fire Suppression Officer of the Year

Eligible Personnel: Any Lieutenant, Captain or Battalion Chief assigned to the fire suppression division.

Criteria: The fire officer of the year must be dedicated, dependable, have good moral character, and be self-motivated.  He or she must be a caring individual for the fire department and the community.  He or she must also demonstrate allegiance to their supervisors and subordinates.  He or she must maintain leadership skills such as: decisiveness, fairness, accepts responsibility for their own actions and above all lead by example.

Fire Suppression Officer of the Year Eligible Personnel: Any Lieutenant, Captain or Battalion Chief assigned to the fire suppression division. Staff Member / Staff Officer of the Year

Eligible Personnel: Any exempt member not in the fire suppression division.  This would include but not limited to, members in fire prevention, training or administration.

Criteria: The staff member or officer of the year must be dedicated, dependable, have good moral character, and be self-motivated.  He or she must also be a caring individual for the fire department and community.  He or she should also have the willingness to work adequately with everyone, the ability to instill pride and constant drive to improve oneself.

This would include but not limited to, members in fire prevention, training or administration. Support Employee of the Year

Eligible Personnel:  Any City of Franklin employee. 

Criteria:  Nominees should demonstrate their support of the goals and mission of the fire department.  Areas of consideration could include, but not be limited to, sustained direct support to their assigned area, superior performance during a period of additional workload, special projects in addition to normal duties, or exceptional contribution to the department or community.

Support Employee of the Year Eligible Personnel: Any City of Franklin employee. Criteria: Nominees should demonstrate their support of the goals and mission of the fire department.
