The Mack Hatcher Widening is included on the City's Major Thoroughfare Plan. Proposed improvements are to widen Mack Hatcher from just south of Murfreesboro Road to Columbia Pike. The cross section is proposed to be 4-lanes (12' wide each) with raised median, multi-use path on the inside, street lighting at intersections and other appurtenances as required. Mack Hatcher Parkway went through a Context Sensitive Design (CSD) process that has been approved and that adds some elements to the project. The project length is approximately 16,500 LF. There is currently no timetable set for this project. Funding is not in place at this time to begin design.
