In November 2004, the City of Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen passed a resolution officially adopting the soldiers of Delta Company (1/327th 101st Airborne Division) as part of the America Supporting Americans program.

The purpose of the City's adoption of Delta Company is to support the soldiers and their families.  Over the years, several of the local schools have gotten involved by writing to the soldiers while they are deployed.  Residents have also hosted the soldiers and their families in Franklin and sponsored their children at Christmas. 

The City has also become involved in another group named "P38".  The mission of P38 is keep up the morale of the soldier's family.  They provide one-on-one, family-to-family connection between service members' families and local civilian families.
