The City of Franklin requires an annual permit for outdoor cafe's or sidewalk seating. The ordinance for this can be found in the Franklin Municipal Code, title 8-Alcoholic Beverages section 8-304 through 8-311.

This requires that any outdoor seating area or outdoor café be approved by the City of Franklin Building and Neighborhood Services department. Seating arrangements and furniture must be approved prior to use. Seating areas shall be maintained with a clean and attractive appearance and shall be kept safe and in good repair at all times.

Completed applications and required documents can be submitted to Building and Neighborhood Services Department at 109 3rd Ave S Suite 110.
