The Ethics Commission is composed of five (5) citizen appointees who are authorized to receive and hear ethics complaints filed against elected and appointed officials for alleged violations of the City’s Code of Ethics as set out in Title 1, Chapter 8 of the Franklin Municipal Code.

Regular meetings of the Ethics Commission are not required.  Special meetings of the Ethics Commission are called by the City Attorney or Ethics Commission Chair when he/she receives a timely filed complaint, when he/she deems it expedient, or when it is so requested by a majority of the Commission members.

For more information concerning the process for hearing ethics complaints filed against an elected or appointed official, please refer to the Ethics Commission Bylaws.
