At 10:00am, a contractor, working behind the Watson Glen Shopping Center, 209 S. Royal Oaks Boulevard, hit a natural gas line. The break occurred near a manhole, which allowed the leaking gas to make its way into businesses in the strip mall through the sewer system. As a precaution, emergency officials have evacuated the businesses. Fire Command at the scene provided an 11:55 update that Atmos Energy has been able to stop the leak. Additional updates regarding this situation are forthcoming.
