About Civil War Days:
Through the year’s different local organizations have hosted re-enactments of the major anniversaries of The Battle of Franklin. Some that come to mind are the 125th and the 140th re-enactment of the November 30, 1864 battle. They were spectacular events with thousands of re-enactors and spectators in attendances. These events live on because they were captured on film (with one becoming an Emmy winning documentary). Other anniversaries have produced re-enactments on a smaller scale, much like the 145th anniversary hosted at the Carnton Plantation in 2009. We have a unique opportunity in Franklin over the next few years as the city readies itself for the 150th Anniversary of The Battle of Franklin in 2014. The Battle of Franklin Trust is working with other organizations to build on the success of the past re-enactments. This year’s Civil War Days will remember the 141st anniversary by hosting a re-enactment at Harlinsdale farm. As the reputation of this event grows with the Civil War enthusiast, it will also provide an amazing educational experience for thousands of spectators each year. Here is an opportunity for your organization to grow with this event over the next several years and have your logo branded in association an event that will develop into one of the premier Civil War re-enactment events in our country.
