NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING

The Tennessee Department of Transportation will host a public meeting for the proposed State Route 397 (Mack Hatcher Parkway Extension) project, which begins at US 31 (State Route 6, Columbia Pike) south of Franklin and ends at US 431 (State Route 106, Hillsboro Road) north of Franklin, in the City of Franklin, Williamson County. The focus of this public meeting is one segment (Segment 17) of the Selected Alternative (Alternative G) from south of SR 96 to just east of SR 106 (US 431, Hillsboro Pike).

The meeting is scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at:

Liberty Elementary School
600 Liberty Pike
Franklin, Tennessee 37064

A brief presentation will be given at 5:30 PM and will be followed by a question-and-answer session and then an opportunity for attendees to view displays and speak with TDOT.

Mack Hatcher Parkway Extension Project

Due to funding concerns, TDOT recently decided to divide the construction of Segment 17 into two phases. The Phase I Interim Improvement will include the construction of a two-lane roadway, all side road improvements, a multi-use path, and a single-span bridge crossing of the Harpeth River. Phase II Ultimate Improvement will include the four-lane divided facility as selected in the ROD, including a second single-span bridge crossing of the Harpeth River. The length of Segment 17 is approximately 3.23 miles.

This meeting will request public input on the project and the design modifications to Segment 17 that have occurred following the approval of the Record of Decision (ROD) on March 25, 2009. Modifications to Segment 17 include constructing the project in two phases and revising the roundabouts at State Route 96 and Del Rio Pike to signalized intersections. All other improvements associated with Segment 17, as presented in the project’s Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS), are unchanged. The FEIS and ROD can be reviewed on TDOT’s project website http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/sr397/. TDOT is currently preparing a Reevaluation of the ROD for Segment 17.
