The Planning Commission is an administrative body comprised of nine members, appointed by the Mayor, that makes recommendations to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) in regard to changes in the zoning ordinance or zoning map, annexations, or other planning-related decisions. This body also adopts and maintains the land use plan and subdivision regulations, reviews the subdivision of land, and reviews site plans.

The Planning Commission meets in regular session on the Fourth Thursday of each month (except November and December, when the meeting is on the 3rd Thursday) at 7:00 PM in the City Hall Boardroom.

                                      Notice is hereby given that a joint, non‑voting workshop of the Board of Mayor and

                                      Aldermen and the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission will be held on Thursday,

                                      September 25, 2014 at 4:00pm in the City Hall Training Room.  Additional information

                                      can be found at www.franklintn.gov/planning. For accommodations due to disabilities,

                                      contact the Human Resources Department at 791‑3216, at least 24 hours prior to the

                                      meeting.

                                      The typical process for discussing an item in this workshop setting is as follows:

                                      1.   Applicant/staff presentation, and

                                      2.   BOMA and FMPC comments.

CALL TO ORDER

PUD DEVELOPMENT PLANS/ZONING TEXT AMENDMENTS

1.                             (4:05 pm – 4:25 pm) Review and Discuss the Annexation, Rezoning,

                                      and Proposed Development Plan for October Park PUD Subdivision,

                                      consisting of 19 single family lots on approximately 11.88 acres, located

                                      along Murfreesboro Road, east of Interstate 65.

2.                             (4:25 pm – 4:45 pm) Review and Discuss the Rezoning and Proposed

                                      Development Plan for the Branch Creek Crossing (Franklin Road

                                      Multi‑Use) project, consisting of 48 attached condominium residential

                                      units and approximately 36,000 square feet of office, on 16.5 acres,

                                      located at 574 & 580 Franklin Road.

3.                             (4:45 pm – 5:00 pm) Review and Discuss a text amendment to Section

                                      2.4.2 of the Franklin Zoning Ordinance regarding amendments or

                                      revisions to approved development plans.

4.                             (5:00 pm ‑ 5:15 pm) Review and Discuss Consideration of Parkland

                                      Dedication Ordinance Amendment.

5.                             (5:15 pm – 6:45 pm) Review and Discuss the Rezoning and Proposed

                                      Development Plan for Harpeth Square project, consisting of 165

                                      multifamily apartments, a hotel with 80 rooms, and approximately

                                      40,000 square feet of retail, on approximately 4.6 acres, located on the

                                      block defined by 1st Avenue North, Main Street, 2nd Avenue North, and

                                      Bridge Street.
