CANCELLED:Tennessee Tree Day

Event open to the public

On Tennessee Tree Day, March 21st, thousands of Tennessee volunteers will collectively plant more than 100,000 native tree seedlings in all 95 Tennessee counties as well as neighboring counties encompassing all watersheds of major rivers that flow through Tennessee. The purpose of this event is to instill public awareness of the value of trees, improve the health of our environment and communities through the multitude of benefits trees offer, and to nurture a culture of sustainability in our region.

The City of Franklin is excited to participate in this effort once again. These seedlings will be planted in a riparian buffer zone and will help to reduce pollution, prevent stream bank erosion, and create a habitat for local wildlife. Come join us for this wonderful event!

All volunteers are required to sign a waiver before participating. Volunteers under 18 will need signed permission from parents or guardians. Please wear appropriate clothing and give attention to the predicted forecast. Gloves, shovels, and other supplies will be provided but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own equipment.
