The City of Franklin only salts and plows the major arterials and minor arterials in the City limit. Also, TDOT salts and plows the state highways that run through the City limit. The City of Franklin does move on to plowing minor collector roads as we are able over the course of a winter weather event.
My mailbox was knocked down by City of Franklin snow plowing activities. Who is going to fix this?
If your mailbox has been knocked down by City of Franklin snow plowing activities, the City of Franklin will repair the damage following the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) standards. The FHWA has determined that wooden mailbox supports no larger than 4 inches by 4 inches, or a 2 inch diameter standard steel or aluminum pipe buried no more than 24 inches are to be used, and should break away if struck by a vehicle.
