Project Description

The Bicentennial Park Improvements project is located in the City of Franklin between 3rd Avenue, North Margin Street, and the Harpeth River. It consists of approximately 10 acres. The intent and purpose of this park are to serve multiple uses by the City of Franklin Parks Department, including entertainment and other types of venues, as well as to serve as a park for the community.

Park Improvements:

 

  • Open-Air Pavilion
  • Parking for approximately 57+ spaces with bus parking for the downtown area
  • Connections to existing trails
  • Public plaza telling the history of the interurban rail system
  • Multiple picnic areas
  • A stage for small community performances or movies in the park 
  • Infrastructure improvements for this entire area: sewer, water, stormwater, detention etc.
  • Site Work – Grading of the full site in anticipation of future parking onsite in a future phase of the park
  • Full street improvements for North Margin
  • Restoration of the dust collector on site from the former Old Georgia Boot Factory Ductworks
  • Full landscaping plan
  • Event space in this area will accommodate 3k to 5k people. (not all will park in this area; the same as any large event downtown.)
