Franklin, TN – The investigation into last night’s rollover crash on Cool Springs Boulevard and I-65 continues this morning. Franklin Police traffic investigators have determined the vehicle, driven by 45-year-old Aric Doanes of Smyrna, was traveling north on I-65 at a high rate of speed when it exited on the eastbound ramp to Cool Springs Boulevard. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn, landing on its roof in the eastbound lanes of Cool Springs Boulevard. After being extricated by firefighters, Doanes was airlifted to Vanderbilt where he remains in critical condition.

The Department’s Critical Incident Response Team, comprised of traffic reconstructionists, is investigating.
