Seward Hall Character Area Update Open House

Community Meeting

The City of Franklin has begun updating the Seward Hall Character Area section of the Land Use Plan and is seeking the public’s input. A community open house is scheduled for Thursday, October 14th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fire Station #6 on Cool Springs Blvd.

The Franklin Land Use Plan, adopted in 2004, defines policies and objectives for the City’s growth by offering recommendations for future land uses and development patterns. The Franklin Land Use Plan divides the city and its urban growth boundary into nine “character areas.” One of those areas is the Seward Hall Character Area, which lies east of I-65 and encompasses part of the Urban Growth Boundary. It includes McKay’s Mill, Breezeway, Caldwell Estates, Garden Club, Abington Ridge, Watkins Creek, and Ivy Glen.

Information on the update and how citizens can get involved is found on the City’s website

The first open house meeting will be on October 14th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fire Station #6 located at 1061 Cool Springs Blvd. Questions, comments, and ideas can be forwarded before the meeting to erin.reinders@FranklinTN.gov.
