Envision Franklin

Envision Franklin, the City's land use plan, is adopted and maintained by the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission.  It is a general plan for physical development and articulates the vision for the future of the City and its Urban Growth Boundary.

 Zoning Ordinance & Subdivision Regulations

These documents are the implementation tools of the policy statements in Envision Franklin. They contain rules of procedure, land uses, and  zoning districts, and detailed design controls for how development should interact with our community (e.g. setbacks, landscaping, architecture).

Historic District Design Guidelines

The Franklin Historic District Design Guidelines are intended to assist property owners and the Historic Zoning Commission by guiding appropriate rehabilitation, new construction, and other improvements within the City’s local historic districts.

The City of Franklin is a part of the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).  They help to coordinate regional plans, reports and studies, such as those listed below.

The City of Franklin Transit System is managed and operated by the Transportation Management Association (TMA) Group. The TMA Group recently conducted a study of transit options to address growth and development in the Cool Springs area of Franklin, which can be found at the link below.
