The small paddock at the K-9 Korral Dog Park at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm will be closed on Monday June 26th and will not reopen until and Tuesday August 1st. The Parks Department will be doing maintenance during this time. Thank you for your understanding.
CITY OF FRANKLIN DOG PARKS
Let your furry friends run, jump, meet (and sniff!) new four-legged friends at one of our paw-some dog parks! No bones about it, we have some doggone great spaces for you and your pup to wag around. Both of our parks are free and open to the public from dawn ' til bark!
Freedom Run Dog Park
Located at Liberty Park (2098 Turning Wheel Lane), this dog park is a 1-acre park that has a section for small dogs under 30 pounds and a large dog area for those over 30 pounds.
K-9 Korral Dog Park
Located at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm (239 Franklin Rd.), this dog park features 4-acres of open space for your dog to explore. The entrance for this dog park is located at the north entrance of Harlinsdale Farm.
Dog Park Rules
Enter & play at your own risk! Remain with your dogs(s) at all times. You are solely responsible and liable for any and all injuries and/or damages caused by your dog(s).
Parks are closed from dark until dawn.
Dogs must have current license and vaccinations and be over the age of four (4) months. (Clarification regarding the word "license": Some states, cities, counties require a dog/cat to be licensed as proof of vaccination. These pet owners, when traveling with their pet, keep their "license and a dog license tag" with them as required by the state, city or county in which the license was issued.)
Dogs must be off-leash while inside the dog parks. Dogs must wear a collar with identification at all times inside the dog parks.
Your dog must be restrained by a chain or leash not exceeding six (6) feet in length except while inside the fenced area of the dog parks.
Do not bring strollers, carriages, baby carriers, bicycles, scooters, children's toys, food, dog toys, dog treats or dog food into the park. Tennis balls are allowed.
Bring no more than three (3) dogs into the dog parks at any one time per owner.
Know your dog's limitations and abilities.
Pick up and properly dispose of your dog's feces both in and around the dog parks.
The pond at Harlinsdale Farm contains treated effluent water and is strictly prohibited for use by animals or humans.
Dog Park Etiquette & Conduct
Do not bring a dog into the dog park with a known communicable disease.
Handlers must control excessive barking or rough play.
Aggressive dogs, dogs in heat, and dogs under four (4) months of age are not allowed. Dogs that become aggressive must be leased and removed from the park immediately.
Fill in holes and stop dogs from digging anywhere within the play area.
Smoking is not permitted inside or within 50 feet of the dog parks.
No other animals are allowed in the dog parks.
Do not leave dogs unattended at any time.
Our water source is seasonal. Be aware that water may/may not be accessible.
If your dog poops-you scoop! Picking up and properly disposing of your dog's waste both in and around the dog parks is required. Doggy-pots and trash cans are available for your convenience.
General Park Rules & Guidelines for Dogs
The City of Franklin has a leash law that requires all dogs be on a six (6) foot leash and under the control of the owner at all times. No person shall let their dog run off leash in any City park. It is also required that dog owners must clean up after their pets by collecting and disposing of the waste appropriately.
Dogs are prohibited from entering any lake, pond, stream or river on park property or on any tennis court, basketball court, or manicured turf sports field enclosed by a fence or wall or any area deemed off limits by the Director of Parks. Violations may result in fines.
