Our Mission is to ensure the overall fiscal health of the City of Franklin and provide the best quality support services to departments, employees, citizens, and partner agencies.
Primary Units & Key Functions
Finance & Administration includes the administration or oversight of the following departments and units under the direction of Kristine Tallent, the City's Assistant City Administrator-Finance / CFO:
Provides financial services, including accounting, financial reporting, investments, bonds/debt management, payroll, accounts payable, and business process improvement.
- Purchasing Office
Oversees the acquisition and disposal of non-construction related supplies, materials, equipment, and services.
- Municipal Court
Provides a fair and impartial hearing for all citizens charged with a city ordinance violation, code violation, or traffic violation within the City of Franklin.
- Information Technology (IT)
Provides the information technology and communications infrastructure for the City of Franklin.
- Sanitation & Environmental Services
Responsible for the collection and disposal of all residential, residential curbside recycling, commercial, yard and bulk waste within the Franklin city limits.
- Water Management
Provides water, wastewater, and reclaimed water services for its customers located primarily in the City of Franklin.
- Franklin Transit
Connects people in the Franklin and Cool Springs Area by providing public transportation services. The service is managed and operated by the TMA Group for the Franklin Transit Authority.
In addition to providing effective stewardship over public funds and assets, this function of City government provides financial management leadership and legislative support to the Budget & Finance Committee, the Capital Investment Committee, and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
