Project Description

The City of Franklin adopted The Park at Harlinsdale Farm Master Plan on December 17, 2018. They identified improvements to be made on the property including the Main Barn which was acknowledged as the highest priority of the structures to be preserved. The Master Plan proposes the Main Barn to be used as an event space as well as a place to host educational activities and a park office. The proposed building improvements consist of adding a rubberized ADA compliant flooring system with drainage system, restoring Mr. Harlin’s office, restoring the Women’s Lounge, adding a warming kitchen, utilizing the former Jockey Room for mechanical and electrical equipment room, adding restrooms as required by code, adding overhead doors and additional ADA egress, adding interior lighting, adding a horse entry, adding signage at the stalls as well as standard City project plaque, restore stall doors and walls to be functional adding a HVAC system to offices/warming kitchen/restrooms, adding large overhead fans and gas overhead heaters to open event space, bid alternate in-ground floor heating system in open event space, add fire suppression system, and utilizing the upstairs loft for storage. The proposed site improvements will consist of expanding water and sewer service lines from the existing restroom building to the Main Barn which will be approximately 300’ in length, expanding parking lot, adding code required landscape material, paving gravel circle drive, and adding a special paved plaza connection between the Main Barn and Arena.
